Lance Henriksen: New Work
May 20, 2004 through July 21, 2004

A Few Words About the Exhibit

Known for his talents as an exceptional actor, Lance Henriksen has had prominent roles in such titles as Alien, Millenium, and Alien vs Predator. He has fostered an admiration for ceramics for many, many years.

Henriksen uses his plaques as ceramic canvases to create a glazescape. Utilizing his superb sense of design, he uses glazes, stains, and engobes (type of ceramic slip – liquid clay) and metal oxides to create his one of a kind works of art.

His unique and wondrous works of art are born out of the merging of several ancient glazing techniques, creating an intense depth of tonal value by firing his plaques 4-6 times.

He lives and works in the hills near Hollywood.
