A Few Words About This Exhibit
Nell Brooker Mayhew was a singularly gifted artist who brought the etched monotype to Southern California in 1908. Mayhew's work was inpsired by Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, japanese woodblocks, French symbolism, and Degas' innovation of the monotype as a medium for fine art.
Sullivan Goss and Balcony Press are excited to announce the publication of a new book, Nell Brooker Mayhew: Paintings on Paper. This new book, which chronicles the artist's aesthetic and technical developments of the work featured in this exhibit, is now available.
