Terry DeLapp

(b. 1934)

Neo-Tonalist Landscape Painter of Central California

by Jeremy Tessmer

Terry DeLapp is a neo-tonalist painter of the vast landscape and vanishing towns of Central California. Working within the confines of classic landscape compositions, Delapp maintains a painterly, expressive surface that is strikingly contemporary. His still lifes of flowers are serenely composed in soft colors, but the surface of those paintings remains charged with the activity of the artist's brush.
