A Few Words About This Exhibit
October 13, 2007 marks the fifth solo exhibition for artist Robin Gowen at Sullivan Goss. The exhibition incorporates recent works and a few treasured paintings from the last decade. The paintings are this artist’s personal account of time passing, of seasons changing, and nature taking its course.
Robin’s characteristic bold colors applied to a noon-time landscape are present in the recent works, as well as the subtle examination of morning mist on green hills and the cool shadows beneath a grove of oaks. She deftly uses hills and valleys as the backbone for the natural patterns created by trees and shade.
As the sun travels across the sky, Robin Gowen captures each moment in a manner that is timeless, yet records an active and natural progression of her development as a premier landscape painter.
